Senior Project & Presentation

In twelfth grade, each student chooses a topic for his or her senior project, involving months of focused preparation and research. This capstone project concludes with a presentation to the school community.

Recent senior projects include:

  • Beekeeping: Exhibit of hives, stories of beekeepers, and culture of the bee
  • Mastery of the Sitar: Music performance with an original composition and presentation about the history and acoustics of the instrument
  • Cranial-Sacral Therapy: Study of its foundations in medicine and use in healing
  • Life in Costa Rica: Report about living in Costa Rica as an exchange student for a year
  • Conversion from a gasoline-fueled internal combustion engine car, to an electric car
  • Photojournalism: Photographic piece explored lives of people from different generations
  • Hula in Tahitian and Hawaiian culture
  • History of the development of the clarinet, complete with solo music performance
  • Understanding US citizenship through a cross country bike trip
  • Tesselation in the work of Escher
  • Screenplay based on the Mumbai terrorist bombings
